Shock waves can reduce joint pains

0 Comments | New Straits Times, Jul 19, 2010

KUALA LUMPUR: Those suffering from joint pains can now opt for a non-invasive treatment using shock waves.

The extracorporeal shock wave therapy is said to treat eight common complaints, including Golfer’s elbow, shoulder pain and Achilles tendonitis.

Association for Radial Pain Therapy (Atrad) Asia director Nick Boden said studies conducted in the United States and Europe had proven that the treatment reduced pain and inflammation. It also stimulates cells to heal.

“The treatment is very attractive because it is non-invasive,” he said at the launch of Atrad Asia at Menara PGRM on Saturday.

With this treatment, he said those in high-risk groups, such as diabetics, would be able to avoid surgery.

While the technology is not new and has been used in some hospitals in the country, the treatment is slowly gaining popularity here. The therapy uses a Swiss DolorClast, a small, portable machine to deliver the shock waves.

A patient usually has to undergo three to five sessions, with each lasting about five minutes. A session costs RM150 to RM300.

Most adult associate card playing with gambling and often times bet with real money.

The development of rules in card games is necessary in order to have structure and order. Without rules there would be no organization, nor would the games be as popular, because there would be no organization.

Some of the simplest games have the simplest rules to play. For example, the game of blackjack is very simple. The concept of the game is to get as close to 21 as possible without going over. Even though this game was designed for gambling purposes, it is sometimes used to help children learn addition.

The rules created in some educational card games are designed to maximize the learning capability of children.

Dean Ornish?s Diet and the Pritkin Plan, among others. They are made up of about 13% fat, 70% carbohydrates, and 16% protein.

These diets are mostly vegetarian diets and don?t recommend eating a lot of meat. Like the low-carb diets, you can eat unlimited amounts of certain foods. Because you can?t eat a lot of meat, these diets are deficient in zinc, vitamin B12, and essential fatty acids.

Also, it is so restrictive that people find a hard time staying on it for life and end up gaining their weight back.

So, that’s a brief outline of some of the main fad diet categories. And, yes, you’re right I haven’t told you definitively what I think are the best fad diets. But read the above carefully and you’ll see I’ve nudged you in a certain direction.

That’s as far as I’m prepared to go without knowing more a
bout your specific circumstances.

This is really something you need to decide for yourself.

Two lemurs have been returned to an Austrian zoo after a week- long crime spree. The duo hot- footed it from Salzburg’s Hellbrunn Zoo by dashing out the door when their keeper walked in. They celebrated their freedom by attacking washing lines, turning over garden furniture, stealing fruit and harassing domestic pets, before winding up in a hotel bar.

Hotel manager Andreas Hasenohrl said: “I couldn’t believe it when I came in for work

A few minutes turn

Posted on Wed ,28/07/2010 by admin

A few minutes turn into hours as you uncomplainingly stare at your alarm clock. Unfortunately, it’s not merely the insomnia that is bothering you but you angrily realize how much your loss of sleep will have an effect on how well you function on the following day.

In all honesty, falling asleep under these conditions can become a very frustrating and futile task. Surprisingly, one of the most effective and natural remedies to help insomnia caused by noise is ironically more noise. The difficulty people have in finding this to be true is based on the belief that pure silence is the only possible and effective environment for healthy sleep, which is partly true. However, there are certain noises and sounds that can actually induce sleep. This might seem difficult to consider, but it’s important to know that the noises you might need to cure your insomnia may have been expressly created for that sole purpose.

Research has shown that special sounds and noises heard by individuals can enhance the capacity to sleep. The sounds often differ from person to person but in general they fall under several distinct groups or categories.
